Teachers, students and parents interested in learning how to use INFOhio resources should visit the How to Use INFOhio Electronic Resources Collection at [ http://www.infohio.org/ER/HowToUse.html ] www.infohio.org/ER/HowToUse.html.  This page sorts the INFOhio resources by grade level, subject or resource type.  Looking at the resource type will give all INFOhio users quick suggestions on where to find the INFOhio resources such as almanacs, atlases and maps, biographies, dictionaries and thesauruses, E-books, encyclopedias, foreign language, images and pictures, learning activities, magazines and journal articles, multimedia, newspaper articles, primary source documents, quotations, test practice and tutorials, timelines and websites. Usernames and passwords for home use of INFOhio are available from your local school library media center. The [ http://www.infohio.org/ER/ERcore.asp ] INFOhio Core Collection of Resources provides students and teachers with valuable tools for learning how to conduct research and improving information and communication literacy at the same time. The recently updated INFOhio [ http://www.infohio.org/projectcalculator ]Research Project Calculator can assist teachers who want to learn more about the research process [ http://www.infohio.org/projectcalculator ] www.infohio.org/projectcalculator.  The Research Project Calculator offers a project rubric and teacher support materials to provide teachers with easy to use lessons for all aspects of the research process.  This web-based tool can also assist teachers in planning for assignments that involve writing an essay or report, creating a PowerPoint® presentation or producing a video. Simply provide a starting and due date for the project and the Calculator will help organize the assignment step by step, along with helpful process suggestions. Another INFOhio resource, [ http://www.infohio.org/ER/secure/worldbook-student.asp ]World Book Student promotes information skills through Research Skills for Students and The Educator’s Research Center located at [ http://www.worldbookonline.com/student/howtoresearch ]www.worldbookonline.com/student/howtoresearch .  These tools help students and teachers plan research projects, learn successful search strategies, and evaluate research materials for authority and accuracy.
 
INFOhio offers a Core Collection Plus Price List which gives the discounted cost for district’s to purchase additional reference databases.  A recent addition to the Price List is SchoolRooms.  Any district interested in adding SchoolRooms to their electronic reference collection should check out the SchoolRooms information page at INFOhio [ http://www.infohio.org/schoolrooms ]www.infohio.org/schoolrooms. SchoolRooms is an innovative learning environment that encourages K-12 students to explore, discover and learn. Using SchoolRooms, students can search library resources, interactive educational media, and the Web – all at once – through a single online portal. In subject-oriented ‘virtual rooms’ students will find relevant and age-appropriate content to meet their educational needs.
