“Excellent, entertaining, informative and efficient” were one teacher’s words describing keynote speaker Rushton Hurley, as he provided insight into how 21st Century tools can get kids excited about learning. Rushton is currently a high school teacher and founder of the non-profit educational organization called Next Vista for Learning. Rushton explained to an audience of approximately 250 educators that what was important in education yesterday is still important today, but with the new tools and resources that are available, teachers can capture students attention in ways they could not do before.
Along with Rushton’s keynote address and his two other sessions, there were a variety of other sessions for participants to choose from. Some popular sessions included Strategies and Resources for Struggling Learners, INFOhio: Adding Fun and Information to the Classroom and One-to-One: Laptops for All.
