This series of professional development modules consists of hands-on activities to develop a variety of technological skills to support classroom curriculum technology integration incorporating 21st Century skills. In each of these trainings, the cost of the technology tool is included in the training price as well as all materials.

Registration fee or district purchase order must be received at least 3 weeks prior to the event date in order to ensure delivery of the equipment for the training. However, registrations are accepted up to the time of the training as space allows. NWOET cannot be held liable for late delivery or back order of equipment. NWOET reserves the right to pass through any equipment price increases if vendor prices rise significantly after the NWOET SCANNER News goes to press.
Many districts have determined that grant funds may be used for professional development packages that include technology equipment, as well as NWOET membership that includes professional development services. However, it is the responsibility of the district to verify eligibility for use of these grant funds.

What is this new technology tool and what’s all the excitement about? Imagine being able to page through Web sites, write an email, flick through photos, or watch a movie on a big, 9.7-inch, LED-backlit IPS multi-touch screen with the touch of a finger. Right at this point, there are 150,000 apps in the Apple iTunes App Store to use on the iPad. Many are free or low-cost and have educational value. These apps can run in their original size or be expanded to fill the screen. Apps already purchased for an iPhone or iPod Touch can be synced to the iPad from a Mac or PC.  There are new apps designed specifically for this device as well. Explore the creative ways in which educators (and students) are using podcasts to enhance classroom instruction. Participants will learn of the many uses of iPods in K-12 education, including podcasting. Educators will use their 8GB IPod Touch to download podcasts and listen to them. During this course, we will focus on finding free content to supplement your curriculum and getting the content on to your iPod.
